Majid Hosseini Ph.D., P.Eng.
Dr. Majid Hosseini joined Coanda in January 2015 bringing years of experience in addressing industrial flow problems via computational modeling and simulation. He has a wide range of experience in the health sciences and the oil & gas industry. Majid previously held a reservoir simulation scientist role at the Computer Modelling Group Ltd (CMG) in Calgary where he helped to develop an advanced modeling technique to optimize downhole tools for the reservoir simulator.
Dr. Hosseini completed his PhD at the University of British Columbia developing a novel simulation method for modeling the behavior of malaria-infected red blood cells to help design an early diagnostic tool. Prior to that, Majid obtained his MSc from the Mechanical Engineering Department at Sharif University of Technology in Iran developing an innovative particle-based CFD method (Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics) with unique capabilities for modeling both Newtonian and non-Newtonian multiphase flows and fluid-structure interaction.
