Jamie Plett B.A.Sc., P.Eng.
Engineer
Jamie obtained his B.A.Sc. in mechanical engineering from the University of British Columbia. He spent 16 months with Coanda as a co-op assisting with experiment design, data analysis and performance modeling of oil/water separators; evaluation and visualization of frothing in tailings treatment and mixing testing of oil water blends as well as demulsification efficiency.
After graduation Jamie worked in process engineering for a medical industry company. He worked closely with the ISO compliance team, supervising manufacturing, updating documentation and performing QA as a SME for an existing battery line; and training operators, improving processes, participating in failure mode and effect analysis for battery design and the R&D for processes of upcoming lines.
In 2021 Jamie returned to Coanda Burnaby full-time. With a strong background in engineering design, assembly and operation of experimental apparatus Jamie has worked on a wide array of projects in our physical modelling laboratory. Using this experience he has become a crucial member of our design team; either leading or supporting the design process, managing and assisting assembly, designing and executing commissioning plans, handing over of apparatus to the lab team for operation and providing ongoing data analysis and engineering support to the project teams.
Throughout his time at Coanda Jamie has helped to implement a number of different measurements on projects including nuclear densitometry, x-ray imaging, induced fluorescence and PDI droplet analysis across an array of industrial applications including carbon capture, hydrogen generation, polymer manufacturing, oil fracking and industrial spraying.
Jamie is registered as Professional Engineer with EGBC.
