Dr. Jeff Mottershead obtained his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Since joining Coanda in 2011, Jeff’s main focus is the development of novel measurement systems and instrumentation, in order to track the movement or concentration of a specific phase or tracer material in multiphase systems for the physical modelling research programs undertaken in our laboratories
Jeff’s instrumentation development career began working in a variety of laboratories resulting in publications in “Physical Review Letters” and “Physics Today”. During his graduate studies Jeff was the lead developer in the state-of-the-art ARPES (Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy) system while earning publications in “Nature Physics” and “Physical Review Letters” for synchrotron-based measurements.
Jeff heads our Electronics & Instrumentation Group, and is based at our head office in Burnaby.
