Marvin Weiss Ph.D., P.Eng.
Chief Engineering Scientist - CFD & Mathematical Modelling
Dr. Marvin Weiss has over 25 years of experience in experimental, computational and theoretical fluid dynamics and currently leads Coanda’s Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Group.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Calgary. Throughout his career, Marvin has developed computer codes for steady-state modeling of flow and heat transfer in piping systems, high pressure blowdown of gas pipelines, capsule pipelining and Stirling-cycle simulations. He also has extensive experience in experimental acoustics, surge control in compressor systems, and turbulence and drag reduction in pipe flows.
Since he joined Coanda in 2002, Marvin has conducted and managed numerical and physical modelling research programs and projects in various areas of fluid dynamics, acted as an Expert Witness on several occasions and has published numerous technical papers, reports and patents. Marvin is based in our Calgary office.
