Rodrigo Mitishita Ph.D.

Scientist

Rodrigo holds a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. During his graduate studies, he experimentally investigated the turbulent characteristics of non-Newtonian fluid flows with techniques such as laser Doppler anemometry and direct flow visualization. In addition, Rodrigo has worked on the rheological characterization of complex fluids.

Rodrigo is experienced in the design, commissioning and operation of experimental apparatus related to the flow of non-Newtonian fluids, both from his Ph.D. work and also from his MSc. studies in Brazil. Since joining the experimental group at Coanda in 2023, Rodrigo has been applying his knowledge and expertise gained during his studies in a variety of multi-phase flow studies, including gas-solid fluidized bed reactors and gas-liquid flow systems.
