Tooran Tavangar Ph.D.

Scientist

Dr. Tooran Tavangar joined Coanda’s Burnaby office in 2025, bringing extensive experience in computational fluid dynamics modeling. Her expertise includes multi-phase pipe flow, rheological characteristics of suspension flow, combustion, and graphene formation. Dr. Tavangar obtained her PhD in Civil Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke, where she developed computational models for concrete pipe flow using computational fluid dynamics and the discrete element method. Upon graduation, she began working as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Windsor, where she modeled graphene formation in gas-phase synthesis. She also holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in the field of thermo-fluids.
