Technologist
Shaini joined the Coanda Burnaby team in 2026 as a Junior Technologist, after completing a Diploma in Water Engineering Technology at Okanagan College. She specializes in environmental monitoring, and Water & Wastewater Treatment. Previously, Shaini worked alongside one of the First Nation Bands in the Okanagan to develop a methodology for their natural spring protection using western science combined with indigenous culture and knowledge. Shaini also worked at the RDCO Wastewater treatment plant in West Kelowna carrying out laboratory tests and daily operations. She is an EOCP certified Operator in Training (OIT) for wastewater treatment.
Before moving to Canada, Shaini worked in civil engineering in construction projects, including water treatment plant construction projects in Sri Lanka.
