Origins & People

This year marks 30 years since the founding of Coanda. Three decades of engineering excellence, scientific curiosity, and close collaboration with clients across an ever-expanding range of industries and sectors. What started in 1996 as a two-person team working over a laser table in our founder’s basement has grown into a multi-disciplinary firm of more than 60 professionals across 3 locations. Along the way we’ve carried a commitment to rigour, practical innovation, and a people-first culture that remains at the heart of everything we do.

Our story is written by the scientists, engineers, technicians, project managers and support staff who turn complex challenges into elegant solutions and new opportunities for our clients. It’s also shaped by the suppliers, partners and clients who trusted us to deliver on safety, quality and performance, project after project, year after year.

To every colleague past and present, every client and partner who has travelled this path with us: thank you. Your expertise, feedback and partnership have defined our standards and propelled our growth.

A Milestone

Thirty years is a milestone built on partnerships, steady innovation, and measurable impact. Over three decades we’ve taken on complex challenges across mining, cleantech, oil & gas, water, pulp & paper and many other sectors; delivering engineered solutions that solve immediate problems and create long term value for our clients.

Together we’ve navigated changing markets, tightened safety standards, and consistently raised the bar for quality and performance.

Throughout that journey we’ve worked shoulder to shoulder with our clients, listening to the very people who live with these challenges every day: the operators, managers and frontline teams who know their systems best, learning the hidden constraints and recurring pain points, and exploring solutions together that fit their day-to-day realities.

The technical reports, publications and patents we’ve produced along the way aren’t academic exercises. They’re the by products of collaborative problem solving, created to be deployed by our clients to improve reliability, efficiency and safety in the places that matter.

As we continue to celebrate our 30th anniversary year, our focus turns to the next three decades and beyond: scaling sustainable design, integrating smarter digital tools, and deepening partnerships that deliver measurable outcomes.

Our priorities remain clear: help our clients meet strategic goals and improve the bottom line by reducing operating cost, increasing asset uptime, accelerating project delivery, lowering technical uncertainty and regulatory risk.

To do that we’re investing in people, technology and practices that translate into commercial value: targeted research and development programs, advanced sensing, predictive analytics, digital twin modeling through computational simulations, and pragmatic physical modelling approaches. These capabilities let us explore solutions with clients, and scale what works so investments deliver predictable returns.
